For the last few years the people at Spike TV have honored the worlds of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and COMIC BOOKS with their very own awards show. Spike TV’s Scream Awards are the must-see event of the year as stars from Movies, Television, Horror Fantasy and yes, Comic Book superstars descend upon the open- air Greek Theater in Griffith Park Los Angeles.
Comic-Con has been involved with the Scream Awards since it’s beginning and has chosen this event to present its prestigious Comic-Con Icon award to an individual or group that has brought comic books and the popular arts to a wider audience.
Ben Affleck and Jessica Alba presented the first Comic-Con Icon award to Frank Miller in 2006. Last year, Seth Rogen presented the award to Neil Gaiman and this year…well, that’s still a surprise.
Getting a ticket to the Scream Awards is almost impossible as none are for sale. It’s an invitation-only event.
But this year, if you’re a past Comic-Con attendee and you live in the Los Angeles area (or are planning to visit), and you’re 18 or older —YOU’RE INVITED!
Comic-Con has teamed with Spike TV to allow the first 500 people who sign up the golden opportunity to attend this night of comic book superheroes, movie, and television stars and some of the best and wildest in musical performances. It all happens on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at The Greek Theater in Griffith Park, Los Angeles.
