Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at this year’s .
The film won both best film and best director at the BIFAs, hosted by James Nesbitt at London’s Old Billingsgate Market. Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel was also named newcomer of the year.
Boyle were presented with the awards by Joe Wright and Eva Green. He dedicated the awards to the people of Mumbai, where the film was made.
