Garrett Hedlund (from Troy, Friday Night Lights, Eragon, Georgia Rule) beat out the likes of Ryan Gosling, Michael Stahl-David and Chris Pine for the lead role in Disney’s Tron.
The sequel to the 1982 feature starring Jeff Bridges will center on a man (Hedlund) who finds himself pulled into the world of a computer and retracing the steps of a character from the original movie named Kevin Flynn (Bridges). Bridges is reprising the role of Flynn, who was a computer programmer but ended up as the CEO of a software corporation.
Olivia Wilde is playing the lead female role alongside Garrett. The movie is due to release in 2011.
I am so excited for Garrett, all of you on here probably thinking, “Who is this Garrett Hedlund guy?” Since it is a Disney project, hopefully it widens Garrett’s popularity.
