Winona Ryder talks breakdowns and break-ups with ELLE.
‘Everybody has a disorder of some sort!’ Declares Winona Ryder, the Oscar nominated star who herself admits to having had an ‘extra-large breakdown’ just after completing Dracula and Edward Scissorhands when she was just 20.
‘I had just had my first real break-up, the first heartbreak. Everybody else just thought I had everything in the world but inside I was completely lost’ reveals the actress, now 37, to Rebecca Miller, the writer and Director Winona’s latest film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (She’s also daughter of playwright Arthur Miller).
‘I remember feeling I can’t complain about anything because I’m so lucky’ she tells Miller, who interviews her in the June issue of ELLE, which hits news stands today.
‘I can’t pretend to know Winona well.’ admits Miller, ‘I don’t. I don’t think it’s easy to get to know her – but it’s easy to love her.’

1. Public Enemies
Johnny Depp. Michael Mann. Christian Bale. The question is why you’re still here reading this instead of booking tickets for Public Enemies, the Mann film that casts Depp as legendary 1930s gangster John Dillinger and Bale as Melvin Purvis, the FBI agent assigned to track him down. We talked to the filmmakers (including Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard) to get the full story on the film’s history – which goes back to a script Mann wrote in the 1970s) and see what we can expect from this latest Mann opus. Also, Kim Newman lays out the 20 Greatest Gangster Movies You’ve Probably Never Seen.

Evanna Lynch, who is rising steadily to fame in the Potter world as the kooky Luna Lovegood, has given her two cents on the movie in the ‘Half Blood Prince’ poster book. The poster book featured pictures and interviews with the cast and crew, and Evanna certainly went into depth and detail with her responses!
If you could play a different Harry Potter character, which one would it be? Why?
Dumbledore! I love him! He’s not unlike Luna in many ways … But Dumbledore is different in that he has so many worries and struggles that in a way make him more human. I think I would enjoy the challenge of trying to create a balance between his quirky detachedness and serene wisdom. Plus, I love his robes! (view the images or read the transcript?)
You can either view the interview in our galleries, or take a squiz through the transcript. Also in other Evanna news, there’s been a bit of an update in the gallery, including some absolutely spectacular photoshoot images; not only gorgeous photoshoot, but also a heck of a lot of fan photos from over the years; a clear scan of her fanmail response and a tonne of Evanna and the Potter crew filming in Wales back in the middle of this month.

Gossip Girl starlet Jessica Szohr strips down to her lingerie, surrounded by decadent desserts for the Men’s Health June 2009 Food Issue. Below are quotes from the 24-year-old actress on how the quickest way to her heart is through her stomach:
On eating like a pig: “My family makes fun of me. They say I eat like a man. But I love food that much. When I have a craving for something, I just can’t hold myself back.”
On no longer being a vegetarian: “After 10 years of eating vegetarian, I tried my boyfriend’s. I was overwhelmed. It was orgasmic.” (JJ Note: Ed Westwick’s burger??)
I have added the outtakes here. As well as one more scan. And also a scan from Star from April 2009.
