RashidaJonesFan.com – Rashida Jones, Will McCormack co-wrote spec
Overture is teaming up with Rashida Jones and producers Suzanne and Jennifer Todd for the romantic comedy “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” picking up a spec that had been bought by the recently shuttered Fox Atomic.
The script, which Jones wrote with fellow actor Will McCormack, looks at a couple that strives to remain friends even as they go through a divorce. Jones is also attached to play the lead role.
Atomic had bought the spec several months ago, but the company was folded into Fox soon after, shaking loose some of its development projects.
Overture last year waded into romantic waters with “Last Chance Harvey,” a more dramatic take on the subject, centering on two lonely older people who fall in love. It is set to release the faux-documentary romantic-comedy “Paper Heart” this summer.
