“The Deep Blue Sea” Movie Still (01)

The first still from “The Deep Blue Sea” has landed online, highlighting Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston’s on-screen chemistry. The actress has her hand on his shoulder while the actor puts his hand on her waist, presumably while doing a dancing scene.

In the movie, the two are indeed playing a couple. Weisz is “dazzling socialite Hester Collyer” while Hiddleston is “a dashing ex-RAF pilot”. But their love affair does not go smoothly as she is already married to a high court judge, portrayed by Simon Russell Beale.

Set in the ’50s in Merseyside and London, “The Deep Blue Sea” will see a forbidden love that leaves Hester with an impossible choice. The story is based on a play of the same name by Terence Rattigan.

Production was kicked off in mid November and is planned to be wrapped this month. Terence Davies serves behind the lens of the drama in addition to teaming up with Terence Rattigan to write the script. No release date has been set for the drama yet.

Young actresses — and their agents — are notching their arrows. Their target is the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen, the hunter-heroine in Lionsgate’s upcoming adaptation of “The Hunger Games,” and casting begins next month.

“We’ll start auditioning fairly early in the new year,” says “Hunger Games” producer Nina Jacobson. “There are no front-runners yet.”

“We have so many great young actors right now whose representatives are interested, or who are interested themselves,” Jacobson said. “It really comes down to finding that person who can capture the physicality, the vulnerability and the toughness. She’s a paradoxical character and you need somebody who has the range to capture all of those dimensions.”

Isabel ‘stars’ in the video alongside her ex-boyfriend and good friend George Byrne (who was also in the Tourism Victoria advert video with her), and the twosome play young lovers who are messing around in a car whilst he drives. The official DVD release date for “Choose” was announced a few days ago for the UK. The release is set for January 24 2011 – so far no news on the US release date. “Choose” is a shocking, suspense-laden psychological horror.
