Isabel Lucas’s upcomming film “Immortals” previewed the first official trailer yesterday at WonderCon, and she was alongside other cast members in attendance to promote the film. Thanks to the wonderful Roberta, Isabel Lucas Inspired have now got a hold of 24 gorgeous new photos from the second day of WonderCon 2011. Isabel looked utterly stunning in a flower patterned white and black dress, and she had curled her hair for the event. She posed alongside fellow “Immortals” actors Henry Cavill and Luke Evans.
Apparently, Immortals took people by storm yesterday! Reviews on the trailer has been surfacing all around the world wide web tonight, and I have yet to find one single bad comment on it. The film is set for a release in November this year – and it seems to be a really epic film…
The WonderCon audience got a quick treat with the first ever public showing of moving pictures from Tarsem Singh’s upcoming film Immortals. It was a classic case of Con footage syndrome – absolutely gorgeous imagery that offers no insight whatsoever to the quality of the actual finished film. But. . . .did I mention gorgeous imagery?
Immortals is a spin on the myth of Theseus, who is played by the very handsome, very muscular Henry “Soon-To-Be-Superman” Cavill. It is also emblazoned with the phrase “From the Producers of 300,” and it is very much a next-step in green screen shooting.
Even though most of the shots were in close-up, they blazed by quickly. Here’s what we saw. (Read full article here)
Tarsem Singh’s Immortals doesn’t have brand-name recoginition like other titles make the rounds at WonderCon, but it doesn’t need to. Swords-and-sandals flicks can sell themselves and if it was good enough for antiquity, it should be good enough for us. Immortals is Singh’s spin on the genre and re-envisions gods like Zeus (Luke Evans) and Athena (Isabel Lucas) as young, beautiful, and in need of the help of the mortal Theseus (Henry Cavill) to bring down the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). We were shown the teaser trailer for the film which was followed by a Q&A with Singh, Cavill, Evans, Lucas, and producer Mark Canton. Hit the jump for my recap and thoughts on the Immortals presentation. (Read full review here)
Fans got their first look at Relativity Media’s mythological adventure epic Immortals — and the screen’s next Superman, Henry Cavill — at WonderCon on Saturday.
The film, directed by The Fall’s Tarsem Singh, is a viscerally imaginative take on the Greek myth of Theseus (Cavill). In the 3D epic, king of the gods Zeus (Luke Evans, who played Zeus’ son Apollo in last year’s Clash of the Titans) tasks Theseus with saving humanity from the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). (The gods, you see, have their own version of Star Trek’s Prime Directive where they cannot intervene in the affairs of humans.)
Hyperion is out to find the Epirus Bow, a legendary weapon of unimaginable power that was forged by the god of war Ares. Needless to say, no one wants a bloodthirsty bastard like King Hyperion to get a hold of it. (Read full review here)
