Congratulations, “One Tree Hill” fans! After tirelessly campaigning with The CW, Season 9 is a go — and we got word just in time for tonight’s Season 8 finale.

The CW has picked up Season 9 for 13 episodes, and while no official announcement has been made, it’s very likely that this will be marketed as the final season of the long-running WB veteran series.

There is no word yet on whether James Lafferty will return for the season. As many fans are aware, he was the final series regular in contract negotiations. Sources tell Zap2it that Lafferty will definitely be returning in some capacity next season, though he may appear as a guest star.

Season 9 will introduce us to Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Julian (Austin Nichols) navigating parenthood, while Brooke and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) team up to reopen Karen’s Cafe in Tree Hill. Also on deck for Season 9? The return of Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), which is sure to have a profound impact on our beloved characters.

With “One Tree Hill” officially on the slate, that leaves only The CW’s 2010 freshman series, “Nikita” and “Hellcats,” still on the chopping block. We’ll get final word by Thursday, May 19, when the CW announces its fall schedule at the Upfront presentation.

In the meantime, tune in for “One Tree Hill’s” Season (not series!) finale tonight, May 17, at 8 p.m. on The CW.

The CW has made its first series pickups for the new season, greenlighting “Hart of Dixie,” “Secret Circle” and “Ringer.”

“Ringer” will bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to the network in a show that revolves around a woman who hides out as her twin sister. Project came from CBS’ development slate.

Reality skein “H8R,” from producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, is also said to be close to an order.

Word is there may still be a shot for zombie drama “Awakening.”

“Hart of Dixie,” from Warner Bros. TV and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire banner, stars Rachel Bilson as a New York doctor who faces culture shock when she inherits a small-town practice.

“Secret Circle” also comes from WBTV and a prominent CW showrunner, “Vampire Diaries’ ” Kevin Williamson. It centers on a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers she’s a witch.

CW presents its sked to advertisers on Thursday.

We reported before Rachel will be on the cover of Elle Magazine June 2011 in the US. We already added the first outtakes of the editorial in our gallery that Elle released earlier but since the magazine is hitting newsstands today we also found the first scans of the Rachel’s editorial. We will replace them or add the HQ scans, including the interview, as soon as we get them but for now you can enjoy these.

We would also like to point out that Rachel will be featured in W Magazine of June 2011 with Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks on the cover. We believe the magazine is also hitting stands this week, so we will look out for those scans/outtakes as well. We are so happy she is getting some magazine featured for the promotion of “Midnight in Paris“.

According to some tweeters the New York premiere for “Midnight in Paris” is today (May 17) and as we reported before the LA premiere is tomorrow (May 18) and Rachel is expected to attend both premieres. Nothing is officially confirmed but we will look out for the premiere photos, so be sure to check back tonight/tomorrow

Today was the ABC Upfront presentation in New York City and we now have more information and photos about Christina Ricci in “Pan Am” over at Confessions of Christina Ricci!

“Pan Am” will be airing this Fall on Sunday nights at 10:00 PM on the ABC network.

In this modern world, air travel represents the height of luxury and Pan Am is the biggest name in the business. The planes are glamorous, the pilots are rock stars and the stewardesses are the most desirable women in the world. Not only are these flyboys and girls young and good looking, but to represent Pan Am they also have to be educated, cultured and refined. They’re trained to handle everything from in-air emergencies to unwanted advances – all without rumpling their pristine uniforms or mussing their hair.
