The first day and performance of Michelle’s summer tour with the Goo Goo Dolls and Parachute was yesterday (July 7th). They performed in Muskegon, MI. We added the first photos in our gallery, we haven’t found any video coverage but we will update this post when we do so. If you have any footage from this performance, or any of her upcoming performances feel free to donate them by e-mailing us.

Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch shared a personal story about the magic of Muskegon and Summer Celebration during her opener for the Goo Goo Dolls Thursday night.

As a chatty Branch looked out at Heritage Landing, she said, “I’m going to embarrass my husband and bass player, Teddy Landau.”

She then told the story of performing at Summer Celebration on July 4, 2003. After the performance, she and Landau stayed to watch the fireworks and found themselves gravitating toward one another.

“I was wondering: ‘Is he my boyfriend?’” she told the crowd, which broke into applause when she said they had been married for seven years.

“That’s the magic of Muskegon and Summer Celebration,” she said.

“So be careful who you stand next to.”
