ABC Family Cancels “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”

The rookie drama will not return for a second season at the young-skewing cable network.

ABC Family has canceled The Nine Lives of Chloe King.

The network has opted to move on from the drama series created by author Liz Braswell revolving around Chloe King (Skyler Samuels), a teenager who discovers she has special powers on the day she dies.

The series premiered to more than 2 million total viewers in June, ultimately concluding its 10-episode run last month. The final episode drew slightly more than 1 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

The cable network picked up comedy Melissa & Joey for a second season in July, with freshman drama Switched at Birth also garnering a second-season pickup last month.

Deadline also reported that while Nine Lives got canceled, The Lying Game picked up 12 more episodes

I hear that ABC Family has canceled freshman drama The Nine Lives of Chloe King after one season, while giving back 12 order to another freshman, The Lying Game. Both are based on Alloy books and have been softy in the ratings. Nine Lives opened low in June with 2.2 million viewers. The Lying Game launched last month with 1.4 million viewers. ABC family’s breakout summer hit, Switched at Birth, has been renewed for a second season.

Emily is gracing the cover of the upcoming “Fit Pregnancy“, she looks absolutely stunning. We added a small preview of the cover in our gallery. Stay tuned for the full scans and interview.

Bones star Emily Deschanel is Fit Pregnancy’s newest cover girl, where she talks about her vegan diet, pregnancy cravings and being a “total hippie”.

The 35-year-old is a committed vegan and shares that keeping up such a strict diet is surprisingly not difficult even though she’s pregnant.

“I don’t think it’s any more challenging for me than for anyone else,” she says. “The real challenge for a vegan is getting vitamin B12 and omega-3s, but you can get those in a vegetarian supplement. The funny thing is, I love kale and always used to put it in my breakfast shakes, but for some reason I can’t stand it right now.”

“I want it all the time,” she confesses. “But I also crave chocolate all the time, and I try to ignore that.”

And when it comes to breastfeeding, Deschanel says she will “absolutely” do it for a year, and maybe longer.

“I’m a total hippie, so we will co-sleep and breastfeed,” she says adamantly. “It’s cheap and much better for the environment, and you don’t have to lug all that stuff around. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but I’m determined, even if it’s hard at first.”

As for her advice for other first-time mothers out there, she keeps it simple.
“Trust your instincts. I love that.”
