Finally! Emile was spotted out and about yesterday… not once, but twice!! Here’s the story: I got off from work, and immediately received an e-mail from the completely amazing Pearlgrrl notifying me of an Emile sighting as posted on Just Jared. Needless to say, we both kind of freaked out. So I went on a desperate rampage looking for photos of Emile when the equally amazing and wonderful Lisa sent me the following photos. The photos are of Emile on his way to lunch yesterday, and there are more circling around of him and Brianna later in the afternoon (which I will add as soon as I get them!). I was just browsing Twitter, and saw that @Joel Madden gave a shout out to Emile to help the people in Africa. You can check out the video on YouTube. And be sure to check out Emile Hirsch Web to be updated on whether Emile participates or not!
Joel Madden is asking his friend Emile Hirsch for a favor.
The Good Charlotte rocker is the latest celeb to post a video online as part of Invisible Children’s campaign to bring awareness to kidnapped child soldiers in Uganda and the Congo. The non-profit organization is asking everyone across the country to upload video messages on YouTube, calling out their role models and favorite stars to participate in The Rescue: a worldwide, 100-city rally on April 25.
“We need you buddy,” Madden, 30, says in the video. “Of all the people that I could think of, I thought Emile Hirsch – he actually really cares about Africa. He means it.”
(There was no word on Hirsch’s answer. Both the singer and actor have been to Africa for humanitarian work. Madden visited the Central African Republic for UNICEF’s Tap Project, and Hirsch, 24, traveled to refugee camps in the Congo with Oxfam.)
The event, which will be held in nine countries, already has support from Kristen Bell and Kirsten Dunst. The two, who will both attend the Los Angeles rally, made video pleas to the Gossip Girl cast and Ellen DeGeneres, respectively, to come out and join them. Ryan Gosling will make an appearance in New York and Pete Wentz is expected in Washington, D.C.

Yess, finally some real news… the official poster for Emile’s latest film, Taking Woodstock has been released and I have added it to Emile Hirsch Web. I absolutely love it, what do you guys think? Freakin’ rad! Not only is this poster so insanely perfect for the movie that it’s not even funny, but it was debuted over at Rolling Stone, the perfect place to debut anything related to Taking Woodstock, the new Ang Lee movie. We debuted the trailer a few weeks ago courtesy of Important Things with Demetri Martin. This poster is pretty frickin’ awesome, and although I’m not a child of the ’60s nor did I attend Woodstock, I’m digging it. I’m sure my parents will be begging me for one of these soon, too. I can’t get over how amazing these photos are, and I also can’t decide which one is my favorite… I think it’s between either of the ones I used for the main graphic, but I’m not sure? This is probably the most exciting news I have learned in a while… the trailer for Emile’s latest film, Taking Woodstock has been released and we have it at Emile Hirsch Web! ICYMI, Taking Woodstock is the latest film by Oscar-winning director, Ang Lee and tells the true story of the event of Woodstock. It is a comedy starring many wonderful actors including Dimitri Martin, Paul Dano, Liev Schreiber, and Eugene Levy. The film is set to be released in mid August! We still have awhile to wait, but in the meantime you can view the trailer by clicking here or by viewing it below. ICYMI, and were completely living under a rock or something, the 81st Annual Academy Awards took place last night, and I have added many photos over at Emile Hirsch Web. Sean Penn walked away with an Oscar for Best Actor, while screenwriter Dustin Lance Black took home top prize for Best Original Screenplay for Milk. After the ceremony, there were dozens of parties throughout Hollywood, most of which Emile seemed to attend! I have added tons of new photos from both parts of the night, including many HQ images thanks to the lovely Dakota. I have also added more photos from Saturday’s Independent Film’s Spirit Awards, where Emile presented an award, and Dustin Lance Black took home the same award and James Franco was recognized as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Milk. I spent all of last night adding tons of photos of Emile Hirsch as I promised my visitors I would do. But there are more photos than I even thought! I was sure that I would at least finish all of the photos from 2008 and 2007, but no… I only got to the last half of 2008 (going backwards of course!). This is really good news, and although it’s more work for me, it’s more photos for you (and me!), so really it’s a good thing.
