Emma Lung: David Jones’s winter 2010 presentation coverage

The Sydney heat made it difficult for everyone to get into the mood for David Jones’s winter 2010 presentation, until the waterfall behind the stage kicked into gear.

The theme for the show was “A Long White Winter” but really it was just another chance to look at the department store’s divine ambassador Miranda Kerr. And Macquarie bankers should feel safe looking through our gallery because the petite beauty is fully clothed in offerings from Alex Perry and Bianca Spender.

There was a lot of love for Lanvin-style looks on the catwalk but the real outpouring of affection was for Kerr, with front row guests Pip Edwards, Emma Lung, Sarah-Jane Clarke, Heidi Middleton and Deborah Hutton giving the waif plenty of nourishing applause. (Source)

Bryce Dallas Howard: New movie: “I’m With Cancer”

I have fabulous news for today – our girl has signed up for her next movie and it will be Seth Rogen’s cancer comedy “I’m With Cancer”!

Summit Entertainment continues to branch out into other genre’s of film by acquiring the Seth Rogen produced comedy, formally titled, I’m With Cancer. The film stars James McAvoy as the lead with Rogen on board in a supporting role. They’ll be joined by two actresses from the Twilight camp (conveniently) Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard.

According to THR, Summit has picked up the North American rights for the film that’s based on the true story of Will Reiser, who will be played by McAvoy. Reiser was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s and successfully battled the disease over several years. Rogen will play his close friend, while Kendrick will star as a young psychologist assigned to handle the young man’s case despite her lack of real life experience.

The untitled film will be directed by Jonathan Levine. (Source)

No word on Bryce’s role so far but I’ll be sure to keep you updated! :)

Mary Elizabeth Winstead to Star in “The Thing”

Universal Pictures’ prequel to John Carpenter’s cult classic thriller The Thing is gearing up to begin shooing in Toronto in mid-March, and the studio has begun to announce the cast line-up. Heat Vision has learned that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse, Scott Pilgrim) and Joel Edgerton (The Secret Life of Us, Kinky Boots) have been cast as the leads. We have a lot of information on both of their characters after the jump.

The screenplay, which was written by Ronald D. Moore, and rewritten by Eric Heisserer, tells the story of a shape-shifting alien terrorizes researchers at a Norwegian Antarctic facility. Here’s the logline:

In a remote Antarctica outpost, an alien spaceship is discovered far beneath the ice. When a group of ambitious scientists decide to thaw out one of the creatures inside, they’re in for the terrifying fight of their lives

Winstead will play Kate Lloyd, who was described in the leaked casting breakdowns as follows:

pretty, bright-eyed, intelligent, she’s a graduate of Columbia and a Ph.D. candidate in paleontology (the study of prehistoric life). On the recommendation of her friend Adam Goodman, Kate is tapped for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by Dr. Sander Halvorson to join his research team in Antarctica, where an extraordinary discovery has been made. Upon arrival, Kate soon finds herself at odds with Halvorson about how best to proceed with the discovery — an alien spaceship with a mysterious and sinister frozen THING found nearby — specifically whether to transfer the specimen undisturbed to a more appropriate facility for analysis, or, per Halvorson’s wishes, to drill into the specimen’s ice encasement for a definitive tissue sample.

Matthijs Van Hejningen is set to direct. (Source)

Emma Lung cast in “Crave”

I am so happy to report that our girl has been cast in yet another new film! It is called Crave and according to Slash Film it is shooting right now in Detroit! Congratulations, Emma! :)

[Crave] centers on a downtrodden photographer (Lawson) who is haunted by the urban violence and decay around him causing him to retreat into an inner world of dark fantasies. When his intoxicating new romance with a beautiful young woman (Lung) goes sour, those dangerous visions explode into reality with deadly consequences.

All the latest for the (still not very known – but that’s about to change!) Australian actress Emma Lung @ Emma-Lung. :)
