Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say a late happy new year. Hope you all had a good one. We’re all enjoying a few weeks off with family and on our holidays, getting ready to start writing and recording new songs.

We can’t wait to get Radio:ACTIVE out around the world. We had an awesome time in Brazil last year and we can’t wait to come back. We’re really pleased we’re coming back to Japan too, it’s been a few years since our last visit and we can’t wait to play some shows for you guys.

We really want to get to as many places as possible, we know we have fans all over the world and you’ve been waiting for us to come…believe me, we REALLY want to get out to America and Europe too. We’re trying!

And for all our lovely British fans, working on a load of new songs so it wont be long.

Anyways…bit of a pointless blog but since im the only one who does these things I thought i’d say hi! I’m in America at the mo so I gotta go make the most of the sunshine!

You’re going out with Dougie from McFly. How do his fans treat you?
I was worried they’d give me stick for it but we’ve got a MySpace for the band and for every nasty message I get from McFly fans I get eight nice ones. I went to one of their shows and a lot of people came up to me. I was really nervous about it but everyone was nice. We don’t go out posing for the paps at clubs so I guess we’re not rubbing it in people’s faces. I’m sure that would annoy people.

He said: “My top crush this year has to be Gordon Ramsay. I’m a massive fan! I think it’s the way he dominates things.” Poynter’s bandmate Judd has amorous feelings for several famous stars.

He said: “I like Cheryl Cole, and I really fancy Natalie Portman — she is just so different looking and hot!” Judd — who was romantically linked to Lindsay Lohan when they co-starred in 2006 movie ‘Just My Luck’ — said he was stunned when he found out the 22-year-old actress was dating DJ Samantha Ronson. The Cristiano Ronaldo-Manchester United-Real Madrid soap opera finally looked all but over right on the last day of 2008, appropriately, after the Portuguese sensation himself publicly declared that he wanted to remain at Old Trafford.

But the feud that has been brewing between the recently crowned Club World Cup champions and the Madrid-affiliated press shows no sign of dying down, after Marca uncovered a campaign by United to ensure Ronaldo would have no reason to swap the Theatre of Dreams for the Santiago Bernabéu.

The sceptical Spanish paper believes that after manager Sir Alex Ferguson had convinced Ronaldo to stay at United in July, he ordered all those associated with the club to do two things: discredit Real Madrid’s image while continually heaping praise on the superstar Portuguese.

Marca booms that Ferguson himself has taken care of all the the bad-mouthing, while the club’s official website has spent every month since the start of the new season awarding some form of accolade or another to Ronaldo.

It would seem that Los Blancos themselves have already moved on from the whole debacle by focusing their resources on other transfer targets, but some of the press in Spain, on the other hand, are still finding it difficult to let the matter go. {source: goal.com}

POP stars McFly are telling young cancer victims it’s all about them in a campaign to raise money for more specialised centres.

Stars Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd are helping to bring in much-needed cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which has a new unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Drummer Harry, aged 23, was especially keen to get involved after the devastation of cancer affected his life when a close friend was diagnosed with the disease.

The band are appealing for fans to buy a special Andrex Winter Puppy cuddly toy, with all the proceeds going to the cancer charity and its breakthrough work.

Harry said: “The Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity I really care about because I saw a close friend go through cancer in his teens. It’s so important that young people are given the opportunity to be treated alongside others their own age and the Teenage Cancer Trust makes this possible by building special cancer units just for young people.

“The charity has to raise £2m to build each unit and you can help them raise this money by buying one of these cute Andrex Winter Puppies.”

The units will be equipped with day rooms, kitchens and chill-out rooms with computer games. {birmingham mail}

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in Manchester United’s last game.

Accoring to Darren Fletcher, “It was great to see Ronaldo come back and score again,” said the Scotland midfielder. “He is a fantastic player and his goalscoring record over the last couple of seasons has been ridiculous. It would be asking a lot of him to match or equal that but we know he is capable of 20 goals a season, which is an incredible return in itself.”
