Candids and another “Clash of the Titans” Still

Gemma leaving the Garrick Theatre last night, after another performance of The Little Dog Lauhged (UPDATE: Replaced them with bigger versions and added a few more). We’ve also added a behind-the-scenes still of Gemma as Io in Clash of the Titans. Very similar to the one we’ve seen before, but not quite the same. ;)

Gemma takes solace in a grounded life

UPDATE – the corresponding scans, thanks to Lorna:

Within seconds of entering a rehearsal room just before Christmas, Gemma Arterton is chatting away about her new play, the satirical Broadway import The Little Dog Laughed, and the perils of being typecast

She might have spent the past two and a half years working alongside Daniel Craig and Ralph Fiennes but the girl from Gravesend has proved oddly resistant to the Hollywood PR doctrine of keeping it bland and diplomatic.

‘I’ve been wanting to do a play for about a year,’ says the wideeyed 24-year-old, who, despite everything, comes across as a girl who likes nothing more than spending Saturday afternoons at Topshop. Read the rest of this entry →

The Disney Channel aired a sneak peek of Prince of Persia on December 31 – the shown scenes are from the trailer, but there’s some new behind-the-scenes material. You can watch it here. Big thanks to Stephanie for this!
I’ve also replaced the ‘The Sands of Time’ featurette caps with better versions and added a few more, and – sort of unrelated – replaced the scans of the November 2008 issue of “Close-up”. :D

Gemma Arterton: The Bond girl done good

Since her debut with 007, Gemma Arterton has resisted the starlet trap and opted for surprisingly gritty roles

Gemma Arterton is, in her own words, a freak. “I was born,” says the 23-year-old former Bond girl (Quantum of Solace) and St Trinian’s starlet, casually thrusting forward her hands, “With two extra fingers.” She rubs softly the raised pinkish knuckle scars on the side of both hands and continues, “There were no bones in them, just the fingers and the fingernails.” Arterton, dressed down in denims and black winter woollies, and munching on a rocket and goat’s cheese salad in an East London rehearsal studio, then cocks her head to one side, parts the hair of her trademark bob, and adds, “And I’ve got a crumpled ear, look!” She taps the mildly swollen flesh at the top of her right ear, and sighs, “I was a freakish baby. A bit of an oddball. And I still feel like that now.” Read the rest of this entry →

Claire Foy in “Through The Window”

On Monday 28th December 2009, Sky One aired the 8th Episode of 10 Minute Tales, Through The Window, written and directed by Barry Skolnick.

Synopsis:
Lee Ingleby is The Man, and Claire Foy is The Woman. This poignant period piece reminds viewers that though loved ones can be lost, they can never be forgotten. A young soldier, who has been away at war, returns to find that his lover has been killed in the Blitz. Miraculously, their child managed to survive the deadly blast. The years pass and, as the widower and his daughter grow older, we learn that the deceased never truly departed… Eternal love is celebrated in this haunting, but tender tale.
