Marion Cotillard is on the cover of the August issue of Interview magazine. The photoshoot is very dreamy, sensual and just breathtaking! The interview was conducted over the phone by Nicole Kidman and is definitely one of the most informative Marion interviews in the English language. She talks about her work with Greenpeace in Congo, her love for the environment, searching for answers, dreams and her work with Yodelice. Read it on the magazine’s website

Sophia Myles finished filming ‘Spooks‘ after 5 months this past Saturday! Now, we just have to wait to see what she’s been up to for a few more months – maybe the series will come back to UK TV screens as early as late September 2010!

There are some pictures from one week ago on Facebook of Sophia as Beth Bailey on set of ‘Spooks‘ playing with Ed Hall’s cute dog. A huge thank you to ‘Spooks‘ fan Emma for sharing them with all of us on her Facebook profile.

You may remember that Ed Hall – who directed the final episodes of this upcoming 9th series of ‘Spooks‘ – also directed Sophia in ‘Marple: Sleeping Murder‘ and she has since been quoted as calling him “super bright”. The other of the overall 8 episodes were directed by Michael Caton Jones, Julian Holmes and Paul Whittington.

Tuesday night Marion Cotillard was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson – for the 2nd time this year and overall her 4th visit. As usual the banter between the two was hilarious and I don’t think Marion’s ever been this relaxed on TV! And we get a new glimpse of a scene with Marion in ‘Inception‘. Enjoy!

Marion was very busy promoting ‘Inception‘. On Thursday, July 8, she attended the world premiere at Odeon Leicester Square in London, England. Her dress is by US-designer Thakoon She looked absolutely perfect, her look was so her, the wavy hair, the bohemian style of the dress and the make-up gave her a beautiful complexion. It’s definitely one of my favourite outfits of her.

Then after the press junket on Friday, she attended the Paris premiere at the Gaumont Champs Elysées on Saturday evening, July 10, looking absolutely flawless in Dior.

And yesterday, July 13, she attended the Los Angeles premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in a exquisite L’Wren Scott dress, looking – once more – breathtaking. She was spotted at the airport taking a plane back to Paris right after the premiere (she still has the same hairdo) as she’s expected on set for more ‘Midnight in Paris‘ filming.

I’m back from my travels for a few days so I’ll be doing my best to catch up on what’s going on in Marion Cotillard’s world. To begin, some additional HQ pictures of her during the Los Angeles ‘Inception‘ Press Conference in Los Angeles last month. To know what was being said during the Press Conference you can listen to a recording at HollywoodNews.com or read the transcript at Moviesonline.ca.

Due to filming ‘Midnight in Paris‘ Marion didn’t attend the London Press Conference (although she did make it to the world premiere Thursday evening – more on that later). However, she was present during the Press Conference in Paris ahead of its premiere there on Saturday. You can watch the entire conference with English/French audio on FilmoSphere France’s YouTube Channel. There’s also another cute video from a different angle of Marion & Leonardo singing each other’s praises, edited by and courtesy of Le Parisien.

Today, in a small quiet street in a popular quarter of Paris, filming for Woody Allen’s new movie ‘Midnight in Paris‘ started in a Haussmannian-style building of which the windows were blocked with black curtains. Everything about the set was very discreet yet we now know that the film is set in the Twenties (Source: AFP). How exciting! And as those pictures of Marion Cotillard – taken earlier today (Monday) – prove the time period is definitely flattering her!

Thanks to the tip of a visitor I replaced the scan of a promotional picture from the Australian ‘The Abduction Club‘ with a better quality picture. This is one of my favourite picture from my favourite Sophia movie.

Also, some of the episodes of ‘Spooks (MI-5)‘ Season 9 are now listed on The Internet Movie Database. Thus we now know the full name of Sophia’s character: Beth Bailey.

Ahead of the ‘Inception‘ Premiere in Los Angeles on July 13, the movie will have its world premiere in London on July 8. If you’re in the UK you can win tickets on Facebook. According to Nadine‘s research the press junket will be held this week.

Already now the first production still with Marion Cotillard has popped up online and the official Inception Website has been updated with Wallpapers and Production Notes with interesting details about the international filming and technical aspects of creating a movie about dreams.

“His mind is so rich,” Marion Cotillard says, “and that’s one reason Chris is such an extraordinary director and writer. On a movie as imaginative as this, you need a director you can trust—someone to take your hand and share his vision—and I trusted him 100 percent. He really inspired me and gave me the keys I needed.”

MAL – THE SHADE
Mal, played by Marion Cotillard, is the love of Cobb’s life. “Mal is a tricky one to describe because she is a mix of so many things,” the actress says cryptically. “But maybe it’s the kind of thing you don’t describe because different people can have different interpretations.”

“Mal is the essence of the femme fatale,” states Nolan. “Marion brought an exceptionally haunting quality to her performance. What she was able to do with just her eyes and her emotional openness is quite beautiful. And she and Leo together portray an incredibly moving couple. Underneath all of the action, I think ‘Inception’ is very much founded on a love story, and these two actors found the truth of that in a most remarkable way.”

“Leo is such a gifted actor. I have always been a great fan of his work, so it was amazing to work with him,” Cotillard says. “His commitment is total and his intensity is unlimited. You can see it in his eyes. When you share a scene with him, you can trust everything he does because he’s so authentic.”

DiCaprio has equal praise for his co-star. “It was wonderful to act alongside Marion. She can be strong and vulnerable and hopeful and heartbreaking all in the same moment, which was perfect for all the contradictions of her character.”

Emma Thomas: “I especially loved what Jeffrey did with Mal’s costumes, like the gorgeous, flowing gown we first see her in. She is the femme fatale and her wardrobe reflects that.”
