Derek Luke’s real ‘Trauma’ on the set

Derek-Luke.NetDerek Luke learned plenty about the life of an Emergency Medical Technician thanks to the realistic sequences in his new show Trauma.

Luke says the cast has been asked to get awfully close to the action and that’s given him more than his fair share of injuries; from burns to scrapes plus cuts and bruises.

Still, he’s giving it his all and now has enormous respect for real EMTs who witness tragedies daily.

Luke actually spent time on a few ride alongs with the techs and was shocked by not only the physical drain it has on the professionals, but the emotional situations they deal with as well – which he saw firsthand.

Head on over to Derek Luke Network to hear Derek speak of his traumatic events on set!

‘Notorious’ stills and more!

NOTORIOUS

NOTORIOUS

Gallery Link: Notorious

Derek-Luke.Net – This film was a hell of a great film. It definitely took me back to when all this happened and when hip hop was huge back then! The Notorious B.I.G was a hell of a rapper, one of the greatest of all time, and it’s a shame his career and life was cut short. Jamal Woolard did an excellent job in portraying the Notorious rapper and Derek killed it as Puffy! The whole cast just really brought this film to life. Anyway (it’s pretty obvious this is one of my favorites, lol.), I’ve added some stills, art work and more. Enjoy! Head on over to Derek Luke Network to view the ‘NOTORIOUS’ trailer!

Trauma Star Calls Show “An Adrenaline Rush”

Derek-Luke.Net – While lots of shows focus on medical emergencies inside the ER, NBC’s Trauma is centered on the scene of the accident, star Derek Luke says. TVGuide.com caught up with Luke about how intense filming has been and why he chose this project as his transition from film to television.

TVGuide.com: What drew you to Trauma?
Derek Luke: I happened to work with one of the producers before, Pete Berg, [who] directed me in Friday Night Lights. I thought who best to understand me coming from film and…we had the same goals to inspire. I never felt like I was leaving film to come to TV. I always felt that because the stakes were so high, the part was so juicy, it was an open path to go and do both. And I really fell in love with my character.

TVGuide.com: It’s clear your character will have some struggles balancing his career with his family. Can you talk more about that?
Luke: I play Cameron Boone and…he’s the only guy [on the team] that has a family. It’s something to be traumatized at work, but to have to hide it on the inside because it’s so heavy [and] you want to be the filter for your wife and your kids. I want Boone to represent the average working man and his challenges. He can be heroic on one side, but he can fall flat on his face on the other.

- Trauma premieres tonight on NBC! Be sure to visit Derek-Luke.Net for all the latest and captures coming once after the premiere! :D
