“This Means War” to open on Valentine’s Day

Twentieth Century Fox has bumped up action comedy “This Means War” to coincide with Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Pic, which stars Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon, originally was slated to bow three days later, but Fox moved the pic to benefit from the holiday’s increased couples turnout.

“Starting Valentine’s Day, we’re making ‘War,’ not love,” quipped Fox prexy of domestic distribution Bruce Snyder. “This is a picture that has it all — humor, charm, wit and action — and it plays through the roof.”

Reese Witherspoon on the set of “This Means War” again

Reese Witherspoon was snapped filming This Means War with her two male co-stars, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, in Vancouver yesterday. You can see that Reese has her hands tied up, and Tom and Chris look bloody and dirty … but they’re still smiling and seem to be having a great time filming!

Reese Witherspoon was seen back at work on the set of This Means War in Vancouver yesterday. Cameras snapped her rehearsing, and then shooting, a scene at a farmer’s market with her co-star Chris Pine. She’s been seen filming with her two leading men, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy, and chatting to the director McG. Reese even broke out into a little dance on set! People’s Choice Awards Nomination

LOS ANGELES – Nominees for the People’s Choice Awards are out, and the people choose vampires.

“Twilight” and “True Blood” were among the top nominees announced Tuesday. Fans cast more than 18 million votes online to select the nominee slate and will also choose the winners in 35 categories.

“Twilight” is up for favorite movie, franchise and on-screen team for its trio of stars: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Stewart and Pattinson were also nominated individually for favorite movie actress and actor, and Lautner is up for breakout movie actor.

“True Blood” was nominated for favorite TV obsession and sci-fi/fantasy TV show, plus star Anna Paquin earned a nod for TV drama actress.

Fans can vote for their favorites online at peopleschoice.com.

Queen Latifah is set to host the People’s Choice Awards at the Nokia Theatre. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS on Jan. 6.

Chris Pine to present at the MTV Movie Awards

Along with several other celebrities, Star Trek actor Chris Pine was added to the ever growing list of presenters to appear on the MTV Movie Awards show. Here’s what MTV had to say:

With just days to go until the stargazing spectacle of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, we’re rolling out yet another collection of Hollywood presenters, including the man who played James T. Kirk in the brand-new “Star Trek” and the comic genius behind “Borat” and the upcoming “Brüno.”

That’s right. Chris Pine and Sacha Baron Cohen, appearing in character as Brüno, will appear at the Movie Awards on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. Joining them will be new presenters Kiefer Sutherland, LeAnn Rimes , Ed Helms, Anna Faris, Justin Bartha and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
