How did Dollhouse come about? I read that you and Joss Whedon came up with the idea over lunch. Is that really what happened?

It is. Joss and I have been buddies since back in the Buffy days, and I was 17. He quickly became a big brother, mentor and ally and we’ve stayed friends over the years. When I was trying to figure out what to do next in my career and what projects I wanted to do I met with Fox and they expressed interest in developing a show together so we worked out a year-long film and television development deal. I called Joss about a week later and asked him to go to lunch and somewhere in the four-hour lunch we came up with the idea for the show.

The trailer for Dollhouse has been re-released and is a much smoother cut compared to the first version, and although some scenes were lost, plenty of new ones were also added — bonus! Head on over to Eliza Fan to view the images; some previews are below.

Eliza Fan has also been keeping the fans up-to-date on the latest news surrounding this wonderful new series, as well as adding brand new HQ images from the latest events!

This appearance wasn’t confirmed as such and images weren’t available yesterday, but yes, Eliza did attend the ‘UpFronts’ on behalf of Dollhouse, despite a presentation not being planned.

Glen Kasper, principal of Storm Studios, said “Joss has always been known to create intriguing, very detailed stories and worlds, so it was a challenging assignment to get all the layers and intricacies of the story into a 3 minute trailer”. STORM was cutting the trailer simultaneously as the pilot was being shot, so FOX could get the sneak of DOLLHOUSE out in time for it’s yearly upfront meeting in New York.

I truly wasn’t expecting to see material this soon, but guess what!? FOX has released the first set of images from Dollhouse: a group shot of the cast; a solo shot of Eliza Dushku; AND the first still from the pilot — taken inside the Dollhouse itself. The images look gorgeous, especially Miss Eliza, and they are as exciting as hell!
