Gallery Update @ Emile Hirsch Web: Emile Attends “He Asked For It” With Andrew Keegan

I’ve been going through thousands (literally) of Emile photos that I plan to add to Emile Hirsch Web, and I noticed in some of his earlier years he was always next to actor Andrew Keegan. I’ve been wondering where Andrew has been, and apparently he is part of a new production entitled He Asked For It. Of course Emile was there next to him, there to support his friend. Sorry these are a bit late, but at least they are up now. :) To view the photos click here or any of the images below.

Today’s clue: Contest Tip Day #4: “I think it’s about doing good work and hopefully the work will speak for itself.” (PW: emile-quotes)

Never head of “Taking Woodstock”? Just incase you’ve never heard of “Taking Woodstock” I’ll explain a bit… It’s a struggling family looking for financial help. Their son finds an ad to host Woodstock, and signed up to host it in his families farm. But he had NO IDEA how big it would be. The movie is directed by Ang Lee (who also directed Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in “Brokeback Mountain.”) It is based on the best-selling memoir “Taking Woodstock” by Elliot Tiber. It stars Emile Hirsch, Paul Dano, Liev Schreiber, Eugene Levy, and the amazingly funny Demetri Martin. It’s already premiered at the elite Cannes Film Festival last month! You can view photos here!

“Hamlet” Could Start Filming In September, Changing The Schedule Of Catherine

New Hamlet news has been posted at Emile Hirsch Web:

Director Catherine Hardwicke’s latest project, announced earlier this week, could prevent her expected visit to the Rio Grande Valley in September, a representative from the organization sponsoring her visit said today.

Hardwicke, a McAllen High School graduate, was to be the headline guest at the CineSol Film Festival, scheduled to begin Sept. 11. But her plans to direct an modern-day adaptation of the film Hamlet could prevent that from happening, said festival director Henry Serrato.

“Hardwicke agreed to come down but dependent on upcoming projects. So, should a paid gig arise, there is a chance she might not make it,” Serrato said in an e-mail. “I have yet to find out if this new project will affect her visit to the Valley.”

It was announced earlier this week that Hardwicke would team up with Emile Hirsch, whom she directed in Lords of Dogtown, to create a supernatural thriller based on the William Shakespeare play.

Emile Hirsch & Twilight Director Team Up To Make Modern Day Version Of “Hamlet”

Overture Films is developing a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet to be directed by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke and to star Emile Hirsch.

The script is being written by Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia) and will be produced by Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, who worked with Hirsch on Milk.

The classic tale of a young man trying to decide whether to take revenge on his his father’s killer (his own uncle) will take place in contemporary America.

Jinks and Cohen said the project was the brainchild of Hirsch.

“Hamlet was in college when the story takes place, yet there hasn’t been a movie version with an appropriately aged actor playing the role,” Jinks and Cohen said in a statement. “Our goal is to present the story as a suspense thriller. We want to make it exciting and accessible for an audience today.”

Hardwicke, who worked with Hirsch on Lords of Dogtown, said she was “intrigued” by the project when the young actor suggested it. She said the new version will be filled with “violent, intense, and romantic scenes” that happen off-stage in the play but will be shown in “vivid detail” in the film.

“We read the play aloud and when I heard Emile speaking Shakespeare’s amazing words, I was flooded with images,” said Hardwicke, who directed 2008’s hit vampire saga adaptation Twilight.

Overture hopes to have a script finished in the coming months and will start principal photography quickly thereafter.

Gallery Update @ Emile Hirsch Web: Emile Attends An amfAR event, “Inglorious Basterds” premiere & more!

Emile has been active during his time at the Cannes Film Festival, attending premieres, dinners, events and more! (Oh the life…) I have added over a hundred new photos at Emile Hirsch Web. First off is photos from several days ago when Emile attended the Taking Woodstock world premiere after party where he posed with director Ang Lee and his girlfriend, Brianna. He then supported Brad Pitt by attending the Inglorious Basterds Premiere & the Inglorious Basterds cast dinner where he shared a table with Robert Pattinson. (Oh, how I wish I could have sat at that table.) A special thank you to Stephanie at my favorite elite affiliate fansite: Kristen Stewart Fan for these beautiful HQ photos. Emile then attended the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS where he pushed for equal rights and took pictures with Robert Pattinson again. Now, I know you’re waiting to see the pictures, so I’ll stop explaining what I have added! To view the photos click any of the images below.
