Well it looks like MAJOR Congratulations are in order for our girl, Ms. Ksenia Solo! Tonight was the 26th Annual Gemini Awards in Toronto, Canada and look who picked up her third statue! Ksenia won for the category, Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series for her role as Kenzi on the Showcase hit series, Lost Girl!

Note: Since this will be airing on Sept. 6, 2011 – I’m going to try and get an official confirmation on this because well… we need it. My guess for this is that they taped the ceremony tonight with the event actually airing on TV, in Canada, less than a week from now.

Fox Pilot ‘Locke & Key’ To Screen At Comic-Con

Great news! If you are attending San Diego Comic-Con then you will be able to screen Ksenia’s pilot, Locke & Key! Deadline’s Ms. Nellie wrote up a wonderful article that you can read below…

With its gigantic promotional platform, Comic-Con has become the place for TV studios and networks to introduce their new genre series to fans through screenings of their pilots and panels with creators and cast. But showcasing pilots that didn’t go to series is unprecedented. It will happen this year with Fox’s Locke & Key, a suspense thriller based on the graphic novel by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. A Locke & Key session will be held on July 22 at 10:30 AM and will include a screening of the pilot, followed by a panel discussion featuring Hill, Rodriguez, the pilot’s writer/executive producer Josh Friedman and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Behind the event is the publisher of the Locke & Key comic, IDW Publishing. IDW asked the pilot’s producer, 20th Century Fox TV, for permission, and with the studio’s blessing, it moved to book space for the screening. Because the convention is so packed, there was some juggling involved, so the screening will be in Room 8, and the panel next door in Room 9. “This one-time-only screening of the entire pilot will show you just what a void there will be on your TVs this fall,” IDW’s ad materials say. Locke & Key, directed by Mark Romanek and starring Miranda Otto and Nick Stahl, was one of the highest-profile pilots this past season. It was given an early pilot order and was originally envisioned as a summer series before it was switched to fall consideration. Despite its great pedigree and top auspices involved, the pilot didn’t make the cut at Fox, and, after shopping the show to cable networks, the studio, faced with mounting costs of keeping the production alive, decided to pull the plug while signing Friedman in an overall deal. With rare exceptions (the failed Aquaman pilot was made available on iTunes), all pilots that don’t go to series die a quiet death and are rarely shown to the general public. While IDW will no doubt use the the footage to drum up interest for the next chapter in the comic book series, it will be interesting to see what kind of reaction the pilot will get. Can the power of the Comic-Con crowd make network chiefs change their mind?

Here’s hoping this screening will light a fire under some Network exec and prompt them into action with picking the series up since I really want to see Ksenia in action. Keep checking Ksenia Solo Online for all the latest when it comes to Ksenia.

Ksenia Solo Online: ‘Lost Girl’/ ‘Locke & Key’ News Round-Up

Ksenia is back in Canada (Toronto, to be more specific) reuniting with her Lost Girl co-stars for the start of production on Season Two! Here’s the latest news on the breakout Showcase hit series. Anna (Bo) tweeted about production beginning last week. Read below about the Lost Girl Season Two Press Release!

Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media, announced today that the supernatural Canadian drama, Lost Girl, has started production on Season Two this week in Toronto. Thirteen one-hour episodes will be filmed at a west end Toronto soundstage and on location in and around the city until September 22. Season two is expected to premiere on Showcase this fall.

Anna Silk (Being Erica, Billable Hours) reprises her role as “Bo”, the tough yet loveable Succubus who survives by feeding off sexual energy. Kris Holden-Ried (Ben Hur, The Tudors, Underworld 4) returns as “Dyson”, the shape-shifting Fae, homicide detective, and Bo’s love interest. Other popular returning cast members include Bo’s human confidante and street-smart survivor, “Kenzi” (Ksenia Solo: Life Unexpected; Black Swan); “Lauren” (Zoie Palmer: The Guard, Instant Star, XIII), a human doctor who competes for Bo’s heart; “Trick” (Rick Howland: Billable Hours, Murdoch Mysteries), the mysterious owner and bartender at The Dal Riata tavern, with a secretive past that is yet to be unlocked; “Hale” (K.C. Collins: Owning Mahowny, Doomstown), a handsome male “Siren” who is the eternal bachelor, ultimate wingman and Dyson’s partner on the force.

Joining the Lost Girl cast this season is Vincent Walsh (Republic of Doyle, Saving Private Ryan) in a recurring role. Notable guest stars include Emmanuelle Vaugier (Two and a Half Men, Covert Affairs, Human Target) who returns as “The Morrigan”, the leader of the Dark Fae and Conrad Coates (Covert Affairs, Tron) who guest stars in episode two.

Season two will challenge Bo’s resolve to stay free and force her to question her own morals and beliefs. While Bo grows stronger and learns more about who she really is, relationships will be tested and passions will ignite, but answers will not come easily. Through it all, Bo will remain true to herself and loyal to those she trusts as she continues to forge a path of her own in a dangerous world.

Also, is Ks’ pilot Locke & Key still alive? Execs hope to find the pilot a new home possibly on cable — here’s the details on that.

LOCKE & KEY: the high-profile horror pilot, which Fox passed on, is being shopped to cable networks – both premium and basic – by 20th TV’s cable division Fox 21. The instant interest stems from the fact that Locke & Key is a pre-sold title as it is based on Joe Hill’s graphic novel.

Ksenia Solo Cast in FOX’s Locke & Key Pilot?

Well that’s the word according to NiceGirlsTV via SpoilerTV. Here’s hoping it doesn’t conflict too much with Ks in Lost Girl. Here’s the write-up! I’m going to see if I can get this confirmed.

NicegirlsTV is reporting that the FOX pilot Locke & Key, have cast Ksenia Solo, who has a regular role in the Canadian drama Lost Girl, had a recurring role in the fan-favorite CW series Life Unexpected and a role in the Oscar nominated movie Black Swan. Its unclear if this is a regular role considering she is a regular on Lost Girl

The story behind this new pilot begins with a tragedy when family patriarch Rendell Locke is murdered. His widow, Nina (Otto), moves her three children — 6-year-old Bode (Skylar Gaertner) and teenagers Kinsey (Bolger) and Ty (McCartney) — to the Locke family mansion in Massachusetts, home to the kids’ uncle (Stahl). Once there, evil continues to haunt the family from across the miles and in their midst. The kids discover supernatural keys that unlock doors in Key House. The first key opens a door, and when Bode walks through it, he turns into a ghost.

The show runner for the pilot is Josh Friedman who held the reigns over the FOX drama Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. [Source]
