Zachary attended 21st Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards yesterday where he got to present with his friend, Sarah Paulson the Audience Choice Award to Justin Lerner’s Girlfriend. Although best known as an actress for her roles in “Veronica Mars,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “You Again,” Bell said during the reception that she trained for opera as a child, before being given “Green Finch and Linnet Bird” from “Sweeney Todd,” to sing.

“It was the first time I wasn’t singing in Italian and I thought, ‘I can connect to this – here’s a young girl singing and it’s in English,’ ” she said. “That’s how I discovered the theater and became an actress.”

Kristen will be starring in a new Showtime pilot called House of Lies. They started filming yesterday and will be filming for four days in New York.

OK, 2011 pilot season. You’ve got my attention.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the supremely talented Kristen Bell is eying a return to the small screen in the buzzy Showtime pilot House of Lies.

The ex-Veronica Mars sleuth joins Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) and Dawn Olivieri (Heroes) in the dark comedy, which revolves around dueling corporate management consulting firms. Bell will play Jeannie, a razor-sharp Brown grad who reluctantly finds herself attracted to her co-worker Marty (Cheadle).

Matthew Carnahan (Dirt) is spearheading the prospective series, an adaptation of Martin Kihn’s best-selling tell-all tome Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time.

As far as pilot castings go, this one is going to be tough to top.

Also Zachary’s upcoming film, Girl Walks To A Bar, has been added to premiere at SXSW Film Festival. Margin Call will premiere this week in Berlin Festival.

New films starring Rainn Wilson (The Office), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) and Rebecca Hall (The Town) will premiere at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival, which will showcase 130 movies — including 60 world premieres — from March 11-19 in Austin, Tex. The full feature film lineup, announced today, includes the world premieres of the comedies A Bag of Hammers (starring Hall and Jason Ritter) and Girl Walks into a Bar (Quinto and Josh Hartnett), as well as the U.S. premiere of Super, starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page. In the Narrative Feature competition, the horror pic 96 Minutes (Brittany Snow) and the drama A Year in Mooring (Josh Lucas and James Cromwell) will face off against six other titles for the festival’s Grand Jury and Audience prizes.

Previously announced films premiering at the festival include Jodie Foster’s dark comedy The Beaver, starring Mel Gibson, and the Jake Gyllenhaal thriller Source Code. Check out the festival’s full lineup at the official SXSW site.

Having nice skin can be a really good thing in Hollywood. Especially if you’re Kristen Bell.

E! News has exclusively learned from Neutrogena that the Burlesque star will be the face of the company’s new Neutrogena Naturals line.

Neutrogena isn’t releasing any further details of the deal, including when the campaign will even officially launch, though a source tells E! News that the 30-year-old actress has already shot the print, TV and online ads, and reportedly earned somewhere in the $500,000 range for the gig.

“She’s got an all-American look that is very relatable for a lot of women,” says one of our sources. “She is a great fit for the brand.”

Other recent celebrity endorsers for Neutrogena include Jennifer Garner, Vanessa Hudgens, Hayden Panettiere and Gabrielle Union.

A Margin Call has been issued, and investors have responded.

A supremely hot property since its first press and industry screening Friday morning, the financial-industry thriller has doubled its number of bidders over the ensuing 48 hours. But Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have partnered to secure domestic distribution rights to the Premieres section film written and directed by J.C. Chandor for just under $2 million and a sizable P&A commitment. Lionsgate effectively bought the film, which Roadside plans to release in 2011.

Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Paul Bettany, Zachary Quinto, Demi Moore and Stanley Tucci star in the story of an investment firm on the brink of its own crisis just as the 2008 financial collapse is about to break. Though the official premiere of the film doesn’t take place until Tuesday night, the P&I screening was so packed with industry execs wanting a look that several could not gain entry. Ever since, the phones of Cassian Elwes and UTA’s Rena Ronson – the sales reps on the film – have been chirping nonstop.

Myriad Pictures is repping international on the film, which was produced by Neal Dodson, Corey Moosa and Quinto of Before the Door Pictures, Michael Benaroya and Robert Ogden Barnum of Benaroya Pictures and Joe Jenckes. Elwes, Laura Rister, Randy Manis and Joshua Blum are executive producers.

Ultimately, six different distributors took runs at the property, with varying degrees of commitment. Roadside’s Howard Cohen and Lionsgate’s Steve Beeks negotiated the deal on their companies’ behalf. Recently, the two companies jointly acquired the Robert Redford-directed The Conspirator and Dan Rush’s Everything Must Go. Roadside also acquired rights to The Music Never Stopped just before the 2011 festival launched.

First-time filmmaker Chandor is a WME client who also has his international thriller script Portofino in development at Warner Bros. and Appian Way.

Meanwhile, a larger storm of sales is brewing. Whether it breaks within the hour or in the following weeks is hard to say, but the clouds are growing full to bursting with the bids of buyers looking to feed slates and capture the next breakthrough indie. The romantic drama Like Crazy was picked up by Paramount for $4 million just a few hours earlier.

Early screeners The Guard and Martha Marcy May Marlene are well in play, while Saturday premiere My Idiot Brother, which got the early evening slot at a packed Eccles Theatre, has generated largely positive response from audiences and buyers alike. The competition film The Ledge also has offers on the table. Several documentary premieres have fielded bids, as well, though no deal has yet closed.
