Ridley Scott is currently filmimg his latest movie, the much talked about sci-fi epic Prometheus deep in volcano country. Scott told the press;

“If one is afraid of nature in this profession then it would be best to find a different job,”

Picturesque Iceland will be the crew’s new home for the next 2 weeks after the London leg of the shoot was completed days earlier. Scott stated 15 minutes of the final film would be featuring the nation’s otherworldly landscape, with Dettisfloss Waterfall as just one of the many location included.

Filming began July 11th at Hekla Volcano, which was reportedly ready to erupt so the world media said, luckily for all you Alien fans out there it didn’t, although there’s more chance of an eruption occurring than Scott revealing any actual plot details.

The director did confirm that Iceland will not play the starring role in Prometheus: “It will be 15 minutes in total, if all goes to plan. We are shooting the beginning of time.”

The film has an elite ensemble including; Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Ben Foster and Guy Pearce, as well as some great up and coming British talent with Sean Harris (Harry Brown, Red Riding Trilogy), Benedict Wong (Sunshine, Moon) and Rafe Spall (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz).

Prometheus is slated for a June 8th 2012 release. (Source)
