As you can see I have finally managed to put up a new layout. Archie Panjabi Central is now displaying its third look. Compared to the previous theme this one is much more low-key, more understated quiet elegance. I really like the blue and reds/oranges. The color scheme feels right for this season. I’m still working out some minor kinks (especially in FireFox). Let me know if anything’s not working. The layout is based on a theme designed by the lovely Natalie who runs 2n-design.org.

Joanne Kaufman of the Wallstreet Journal’s culture and arts section met up with Archie (after a few difficulties) to discuss her Emmy win and the role for which she won the award. Touching (of course) on the subject of Kalinda’s magic boots and her mysterious character.
“Normally as an actor you go in with a very clear idea of your character, and here I was really being challenged,” said Ms. Panjabi. “But I got off on the fact that Kalinda didn’t really make sense to me, and every day I was thinking ‘what’s going on in her mind?’ Now, I get her. She’s very special to me.”
Still, Ms. Panjabi wasn’t so sure viewers would share her fondness. “I worried they wouldn’t take to Kalinda because she’s quite hard and reserved,” she said. “But people have told me they want someone like her in their life as a friend to guide and protect them. It’s kind of like she’s a mother figure.”
Kalinda has also become something of a touchstone for the woman who embodies her so memorably. “She strips out a lot of the emotions and thinks ‘let’s be practical here, let’s be logical,” said Ms. Panjabi. “Sometimes I’ll be in a situation where I have to make a decision and I’ll try to think like my character.
