Latest news regarding Veronica Mars Movie

WB recently created a Veronica Mars Movie email

Thanks for all of the Veronica Mars LoVe! Please send your film requests and petitions to VeronicaMarsMovie@warnerbros.com.

Recent response regarding Rob Thomas’ reaction to this:

Breaking news: Fans want a ‘Veronica Mars’ movie.

Wait, that’s not breaking news — that’s been the case since the series went off the air in 2007. However, it is news that Warner Bros., seemingly out of nowhere, has set up a new email address, VeronicaMarsMovie@warnerbros.com, for fans to bombard them with emails about turning the cult-hit series into a film.

“I was surprised as anyone that Warner Bros. set up a ‘Veronica Mars’ email address,” the show’s creator Rob Thomas told TV Squad via email. “No one has talked to me about it.”

Warner Bros. posted this lovely message on its Twitter page over the weekend: “Thanks for all of the Veronica Mars LoVe! Please send your film requests and petitions to VeronicaMarsMovie@warnerbros.com.” Look at them speaking fan lingo and referencing the Logan/Veronica pairing!

“I was happy to see it,” Thomas said of the email. “It gives me a glimmer of hope, but I’m just like everyone else wondering, ‘What does this mean?’ I hope it means it’s under consideration, but I have no insider knowledge on that front.”

Like any good ‘Mars’ fan, my heart went into a tizzy when I saw the tweet and I wondered the same thing as Thomas: What does this mean? Is Warner Bros. just tired of people spamming their Twitter with messages and the #VeronicaMarsMovie hashtag? Maybe, but at least it means they’ve taken some notice.

When you email the address — because if you loved the series and TV in general you should — you’ll get this auto-reply: “Thank you for your interest in a VERONICA MARS movie. This is an automated response; due to the volume of mail we receive, we are unable to respond to individual messages, but rest assured, we are reading all of the messages we get. The fan support has been incredible, and we really appreciate your loyalty and enthusiasm towards the show.”

If you plan to drop WB a line, here are a few key points you may want to touch upon in your email:

• There are close to 22,000 people in the “I will go see ‘Veronica Mars: The Movie’” group on Facebook. Plus, ‘Veronica Mars’ fans are loyal — WB can count at least two tickets for every pledge from repeat viewings. 162,505 people have listed the series as one of their favorite shows on Facebook.

• Talk about your passion for the show. Have a specific ‘Veronica Mars’ story? Share it, but keep it brief.

• Mention creator Rob Thomas’ statements about the movie — he’s ready. See this Tweet: “Ready to write the Veronica Mars movie the day Warner Brothers gives us a green light. Thanks, everyone, for keeping hope alive.” For more info, check out this interview.

• Reference Kristen Bell’s willingness. She said she’d finance the film!

While some other sites have been a little bit more snarky about the creation of this email address, it shouldn’t stop the tenacity. Send those emails — we’ve already sent ours!

90909 Veronica Mars Tweeting Event

Kristen’s recent tweet on twitter:

to all my homies who still tweet #veronicamarsmovie – i dont have any new info to share but i wont ever stop trying to get it made!

Neptune Rising is doing a new Veronica Mars event happening this Wednesday. All you need is to get more people to join us tweeting and of course, need a twitter account. It’s time to show our support again :D

GET READY TO TWEET 90909: Alrighty, Pirates! We’re set for a Veronica Mars tweetathon on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 (90909)! Ideally, we’d have our Veronica Mars movie coming out that day, but as it is, we’ve still got work to do. So let’s show the Twitterverse and everyone who pays attention that WE WANT OUR VERONICA MARS MOVIE! Here’s the deal: at 9:09am and 9:09pm (Pacific Standard Time-conversion/info here), we all tweet something about #veronicamars. If we’re all tweeting simultaneously, our odds of getting in the trending topics (the top 10 things people are talking about on Twitter) is substantially higher, which gives us the chance to get the topic of Veronica Mars in front of MILLIONS of people. Let’s also aim for tweeting at any of the :09 markers that day (it’s 9:09 somewhere!)– but SPECIFICALLY 9:09am/pm PST. Tell your friends, tweet it up, and let’s rock this twitter business, 09′ers!
