Whitney Port Gets Pampered, Dishes Style Tips

Enjoying time off from filming duties, Whitney Port was spotted out for a pampering session in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (November 17).

The MTV reality star and her gal pal dropped into the Beverly Hills Nail Salon, ready to get their nails prettied up before continuing about with the day.

Meanwhile, Miss Port was kind enough to dish out a few stylin’ tips via her personal Web site.

“I have noticed that a lot of you have been wondering how I do my makeup. I am not a big fan of heavy makeup so the majority of the time I do my own. I stick to the basics of face powder, bronzer and blush. Over the years I have learned how to do my own makeup because we don’t have a makeup artist for the show. Here is a little look at my daily routine. I start by mixing Fresh High Noon tinted moisturizer with the Fresh Soy Face Cream to get a nice base with a little sunkissed glow. Then I dust Bare Minerals Powder with SPF 15 to even out my skin. Next I bronze with Guerlain Number One for Blondes on my cheeks, hairline and jawline. Then I brush a little bit of NARS Orgasm Blush on my cheekbones, a little on my forehead, nose, and chin to keep it constant. I use Anastasia brow gel to give my eyebrows a nice shape (this is especially helpful if I haven’t had time to go in to get them done.) I highlight under my eyebrows with Benefit Eye Bright and then curl my lashes with a Sephora eyelash curler. Sometimes if I’m really feeling like going all out for the day I put on Maybelline mascara. This look is really easy to transition from day to night. I reapply the basics and use the Stila Smudge pot with a slanted brush to put eyeliner on. For my lips I love the Fresh Sugar Lip Stain with SPF in it. Seems like a lot of steps but it really only takes 5 minutes!”

Whitney Port’s Robertson Romp

Never one to shy away from a retail excursion, Whitney Port was busy doing some heavy-duty shopping along Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills on Friday (November 13).

The MTV reality star sported a pair of American Indian designed “Dreamcatcher” earrings paired with a blue and white striped top and jeans as she browsed the local boutiques to add to her already impressive wardrobe.

As for her fashionable likings, Miss Port recently revealed her favorite accessory, saying,

“I have a beige vintage Chanel bag that I take everywhere with me.”

As for her favorite designer, Whitney tells:

“Of all time? Valentino. His designs are so classic and beautiful.”

The City Recaps: “If She Can Make it Here…” & “The Truth Will Reveal Itself”

street_3_0100The City debuted Monday night with back-to-back episodes, “If She Can Make it Here…” and “The Truth Will Reveal Itself.” The Hills spinoff did not disappoint.

In typical fashion, The Hollywood Gossip will be recapping every episode, awarding and deducting points as it sees fit. Last night’s introduction to the series found Whitney Port overwhelmed by co-workers, friends and boyfriend drama in N.Y.C.

On to the rankings!

Not enough fashion exposure – during Fashion Week, no less. Minus 3.

Who the heck is Erin Lucas, and how is Whitney friends with her? We don’t really understand this relationship, but she seems pretty nice! Plus 4.

Charming as he seems one moment, Jay Lyon sure can act like a jerk the next. Mumbling repeatedly and proclaiming that he’s gonna do whatever the eff he wants doesn’t endear you to most people. Minus 5. But Plus 3 for the accent and hair!

Our first impressions of Olivia Palermo were not exactly strong. Anybody calling herself a “social” – short for socialite, like you need a nickname for that – automatically sucks. And who the hell calls a debutante ball a  “Deb.” Lame. Minus 7.

This isn’t a specific point, but a general observation – by virtue of her intelligence and the fact that she’s relatable on some level, a show about Whitney Port sure beats one that – at least in Season Four – focused so much on Audrina Patridge. Plus 10.

Speaking of Audzo, Whitney stands up to Jay Lyon, unlike a certain someone. Calling him out on the issue with his ex showed she’s not going to be a pushover. Plus 2.

Despite this moral victory, however, we get the feeling it won’t always be that easy for Whitney to assert herself. Minus 1 for the mere possibility that Jay becomes “that guy.”

Minus 6 for The City trying to play up the whole New York City class-by-neighborhood angle – there are dozens of distinct areas, not just uptown vs. downtown. Gossip Girl does the same thing, but The City is even worse about it – and at least Gossip Girl is supposed to be fictional, not a quote-unquote reality show.

What’s not to love about Whitney and Kelly Cutrone’s little heart-to-heart at the end? Everybody needs an experienced voice of reason as a sounding board at times. Quite the contrast from Lisa Love passive-aggressively criticizing LC, no? Plus 5.

Man, when Olivia was grilling Whitney about Jay’s whereabouts at the party, we wanted to backhand that rich-girl pout off her face so hard. Minus 4.

Just pointing out that the gruesome twosome, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, do not appear on The City. How great is this show? Obligatory Plus 20.

On the verbal sparring between Alex and Jay: Minus 6 for the use of “dude” every other word and because it was so obviously staged by MTV to stir up drama, but Plus 5 for Jay seemingly legitimately annoyed. Maybe he wasn’t in on the act. Plus 3 more, too for Alex’s threat to “take care of you myself,” which, while totally lame, is exactly the kind of thing dudes say when they are trying to front like they’re hard.

TOTAL: +25! A solid debut for The City. Leave a comment with your own scores!

The Hills Season 4 Finale

The Hills Season 4 Finale was full of fashion. Let’s watch what the cast wore this night. Starting off with Lauren Conrad:

Lauren wore a 3.1 Phillip Lim multicolored sequin dress, which suited her very well. The poster at RedCarpet-FashionAward.Com said Lauren should have had a belt on her dress like the model on the left picture. But I don’t think so. It would have been nice, but not nececerely. Lauren completes the look with gold heels, and shows off a bit different hairstyle than usual.

Buy this 3.1 Phillip Lim multicolored sequin dress @ Net-A-Porter.Com

And now, over to Whitney.

Whitney was dressed from top to toe with Diane von Furstenberg. She looked so lovely, and the dress was amazing. The Hills/The City star wore a gorgeous eggplant maxi dress from Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring 2009 collection. I agree with RC-FA.Com – Whitney won the price of tonight’s best dressed!

Do as Whitney and wear DvF – Get it @ Net-A-Porter.Com!

Next off is Audrina.

I would say WOW, if it wasn’t for the length of the dress. It’s beautiful, but I think Audrina is more like the “showing-leggs”-type of girl. The wine coloured strapless dress she wore is from Alexander McQueen’s 2007 fall cllection. Although I would like to see a shorter dress on her, she looked beautiful in that colour!

Then it’s Heidi!

I don’t know which designer Heidi wore, the dress was beautiful. But not on her! She should have covered up her breasts more. Although her shoes may be in at the moment, I don’t like them. She looked happy and I guess that’s what matters. Now let’s compare the two sisters and see who’s winning for this night!

Holly Montag

Holly wore this Gucci Spirng 2004 dress. She looked beautiful, but the colour of the dress was a little to pale on her. If it was up to me, I would have picked another dress. But she coloured up her look with some beautiful red pump. Better luck next time!

So whose the winner of the Montag’s? I would say Heidi..

Stephanie looked cute in a baby-doll dress by Alexander Wang Resort 2009.  I do have to agree with RC-FA.Com and say that the dress looks way better on the model. But hey, that’s how it always is!

Lauren Bosworth wrapped up warm against the cold weather, but did briefly reveal her ensemble of a sparkly top and satin yellow high-waisted skirt from Forever 21. She’s cute. Just wished she could dress up a little more.

So who do you think dressed the best this night? Leave a comment!
