Joseph Gordon-Levitt is turning into a triple threat, venturing into big-screen writing and directing.

Gordon-Levitt will make his feature directorial debut with an untitled comedy based on a script he also wrote. He will star in the movie, with Scarlett Johansson playing one of the two major female roles.

Plotlines are not being revealed other than it centers on “a modern day Don Juan and his journey to become less of a selfish dick,” according to Gordon-Levitt’s publicist.

Financing is coming from Voltage Pictures, which is selling international rights in Berlin. Ram Bergman will produce for Ram Bergman Productions in association with hitRECord Films.

Production is set to start in Los Angeles on April 16.

Gordon-Levitt, who grew up before America’s eyes on the sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, has turned into a leading man after showing his mature chops on movies such as Brick and (500) Days of Summer.

After starring in the acclaimed 50/50, he’s got four major movies this year. He’s part of Christopher Nolan’s ensemble cast of Dark Knight Rises, stars in the thriller Premium Rush, reteams with Brick director Rian Johnson for Looper and plays Abraham Lincoln’s brother in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

Zooey will be making her Saturday Night Live hosting debut next month on February 11:

Just when you thought the show couldn’t get more adorkable, New Girl has gone and cast a sweet young thang who just might give Zooey Deschanel a run for the money!

12-year-old Joey King (who starred in Ramona and Beezus with Selena Gomez, Crazy Stupid Love and will appear in NBC’s Bent with Amanda Peet) has been cast on the hit Fox comedy, and she’s shooting her role this week.

So will she play a future lovechild of Nick and Jess? Pleaseohpleaseohplease?

Nope. Not even a little. But we can always dream!

Joey is set to play Brianna, a student who goes head to head with Jess (Deschanel) in episode 15 of the current season, called “Bully.” She’a a mean girl, goody-two-shoes type being raised by two women who is responsible for bullying a boy. Jess tries to intervene when she finds out – and Brianna turns her focus on Jess, who turns to Nick and Winston for help in dealing with her. So maybe this will lead to a Nick and Jess baby? (Dreams, people. Dreams!)

Rachel Harris (The Hangover) is set to play the vice principal of Jess’s school, making her first appearance in the Jan. 17 episode (Schmidt’s birthday).

And hey, with a kiddo on set, let’s just hope Max Greenfield (Schmidt) keeps his “surgically downsized nipples” covered for once!

New Girl airs Tuesdays on Fox and is set to sweep the Golden Globes this Sunday or else we’ll be crying on the couch watching Dirty Dancing repeatedly for days to come.

Joe and Zooey’s duet for HelloGiggles Video Karaoke came out a couple of days ago. They did a duet to Nancy Wilson’s What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? Just in time for New Years! This is what Zooey wrote on HelloGiggles for it:

I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year’s duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY!
